Dear Fellow Sierra Leoneans

In every corner of our beloved nation from the bustling streets of Freetown to the quiet villages of Pujehun, from the hills of Kono to the shores of Bonthe, we share one homeland, one destiny, and one deep hope: that Sierra Leone shall rise.

As a son of this nation and a proud member of the All People’s Congress (APC), I have walked alongside you through Sierra Leone’s highs and lows. I have seen how much we endure. I have also seen how much we can overcome when we are united.

But today, this message is not about party. It is not about tribe, region, or religion. It is about Sierra Leone.

We must never forget: Sierra Leone is bigger than any political party, any politician, or any personal ambition. Our loyalty must first and always be to the green, white, and blue of our flag and to the people who carry its weight every day with courage and hope.

We are a country rich in natural resources, culture, and history but our greatest treasure is our people. And it is our people who deserve better. They deserve peace. They deserve honest leadership. They deserve opportunity. And they deserve unity.

We must stop fighting one another while poverty wins. We must stop choosing party over people, and ego over country. We must silence the voices that divide us and raise the voices that heal.

Let us remember that we all have a role to play. Whether you are a farmer, a teacher, a student, a trader, or a public servant, you are part of Sierra Leone’s solution. We must lift as we climb. We must build as we lead. We must help those who have been forgotten, and reach those who have been left behind.

This moment calls for more than politics, it calls for purpose. It calls for all of us to say:

  • “I will put Sierra Leone first.”
  • “I will not harm my brother because of tribe.”
  • “I will not hate my sister because of party.”
  • “I will love my country enough to work for her healing.”

Let this be a new chapter, not just for APC, but for Sierra Leone. A chapter where peace is louder than hate, where unity is stronger than division, and where love leads us forward.

May God bless every citizen of this land, and may He give us the wisdom to stand together, build together, and rise together.

With love for country,

  • Al-Hassan Gbessay Kanu
  • Presidential Flagbearer Aspirant
